CNN Reports on the conviction of the Band Manager for Great White, who started th pyrtechnics show in Rhode Island that killed 100 people. He was sentenced to 4 years in prison for 100 counts of involuntary manslaughter. Ok, fine. But apparently 4 years of his life is too little for him to pay for an accident that wasn't his fault, according to parents. They wanted him to serve the full sentence of 10 years, and were outraged at the fact that he is only sentenced to 4. This is a man who pleaded guilty, broke down crying in the court room, and has written letters of apology to every family affected by that fire. A fire, which only occurred because the club owners improperly installed highly flammable sound-proofing material.
I'm sure that the guilt he's feeling, and 4 years in prison, won't be enough for him to never ever use pyrotechnics again, he needs that extra 6 years of his life taken away, so that he'll learn his lesson good. What's wrong with people; do they really think that getting 'revenge' on this guy will make them feel better? It was an accident on all counts. This same pyrotechnics show had probably been performed hundreds of times as that band toured; the only reason things when wrong this time was because of the sound-proofing material. But let's all get blood thirsty and destroy his life... Amazingly enough the club owners are being charged with 200 counts of involuntary manslaughter each. That's right, in our legal system you can count 1 person twice somehow... At least this judge seemed to understand that this man would punish himself with guilt more than any penitentiary system would...
