Started the new job at Aetna in Middletown this week. So far we don't really have any work to do, so I have to come up with creative ways to kill time...

Mainly I explore the internet and what is and isn't blocked. Obviously my website here is not on the blocked list.

Things that are blocked that I wish weren't:
Gmail, Hotmail, Battlemaster, LiveJournal.....

My Co-workers:
Michael Bird - RIT - Statistics Major - 10 minute commute from Home in Berlin
Diane Szabo - UConn - Actuarial Sciences Major - 45 minute commute from UConn housing
Larisa Treyster - UConn - Actuarial Sciences Major - 1+ hour commute from ? - Creator of "Freshman Fifteen" comic strip in UConn newspaper - Reminds me heavily of Megan Heaphy...

We will be joined by 4 more Interns next Tuesday.

We get Memorial Day off, yay for Federal Holidays...

Summer... I dunno... so far it's been a couple of weeks of doing nothing mostly...

Upon recent events:

I miss school, but not for the reasons most people miss school. I miss school cause I liked the fact that I was able to go hang out with any random group of people that I have never met before and not have to worry about things like: who's going to be drunk, or trying to get drunk; who's going to be smoking, who's going to be dressed in drag; who's going to be swearing every 3 words in any conversation they have; how many sex scenes are in the movie that people are watching; or any other of a myriad of things...

I don't miss it because I had such an amazingly fantastic time that I never want it to end. I've lived a large portion of my life with little to no social interaction and it really doesn't bother me anymore. And given the choice between morons and nobody, I'd choose nobody everytime...

It bothers me to see people who used to be intelligent, and self-thinkers become wrapped up in "college life" and have lost whatever independent identity they once had...

Maybe I've just managed to hang on to maturity while everyone has slipped into "college." Or maybe I've just matured and everyone has stayed roughly the same.. I dunno.. and I'm not just saying this about back here in CT... There were plenty of people in UT that didn't seem to feel it was necessary to think for themselves... Which I guess is at least partially why 95% of the people I met assumed I was somewhere between 23 and 25 years old.

Maybe I just miss having the ability to have intellectual conversations with people and discuss things maturely.

Sigh... I dunno... maybe I just need to go to sleep.

Just been hangin out doing mostly nothing since I've gotten back. Let's see... what HAVE I done... i went mountain biking with Jarrett up in West Hartford for a few hours on Monday (I think it was Monday). That was cool... I found out how badly out of shape I really am. Visited the High School a few time last week. Played some frisbee... bought some cleats for said frisbee playing. Been playing alot of Xbox... sleeping 10-11 hours a night... getting up around noon... staying up till around 1 or 2... Yup... the life of a guy with nothing to do, and no one to hang out with...

Luckily people start coming home this weekend, so I'll have stuff to do again, and a reason to get up before noon, and to shower when I get up... I'm helping Mike Dalzin build a new computer, it's gonna be tight.

Sandy comes home tonight big grin Her job at the Goodspeed is gonna make it a little tough to see much of her this summer though sad c'est la vie...
