We've been lied to for four and a half years ... why should it change now?

"They wear no uniform; they respect no laws of warfare..." Sounds alot like how we won the Revolutionary War; but this describes Terrorists... hmm...

"The next step is to write a good constitution that enshrines these freedoms in permanent law." Maybe we should focus on preserving OUR constitution, before writing someone elses... how many times in the past 5 years have our CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS been perverted, stolen, or denied? Let us check the Bill of Rights:

Amendment 1: We can't report the FBI raiding our house under the PATRIOT Act, or we can be imprisoned... doesn't sound like Freedom of Speech to me. (X)

Amendment 2: Well.. militias don't really exist, the National Guard is close, but the Federal Gov't controls them. And we can usually get ahold of guns legally. (O)

Amendment 3: We haven't been forced to quarter soldiers, yet. (O)

Amendment 4: The PATRIOT Act allows the FBI to perform secret searches without obtaining a warrant. (X)

Amendment 5: Supreme Court just ruled that the Government can take your private land, and give it to another private entity. As long as the Gov't decides it's better for the community. (but that will never be abused, cause we know all our politicians are uncorruptible... /sarcasm) (X)

Amendment 6: The PATRIOT Act allows the FBI to hold you for up to 6 months at a time, without telling you why. (X)

Amendment 7: Doesn't really apply these days, since $20 is really nothing... (O)

Amendment 8: No Bail is excessive when they don't say why you're being held. Having your life ruined while the FBI conducts "Intelligence Gathering" searches is pretty cruel. (X)

Amendment 9: This one is tougher... it's much less concrete, and acts as a catch all of sorts. I interpret it to mean that just because some rights have been expicitly outlined in the Constitution / Bill of Rights; doesn't mean 'the people' aren't entitled to others, not listed, as well. I can pretty much guarantee that this has been violated. (X)

Amendment 10: I don't recall the Constitution giving the Federal Gov't power to create ID cards... that's always been held by the states as Driver's Licenses, and such... yet, the REAL ID act got passed. (X)

So let's look at the results. 3 O's to 7 X's... That's disgusting. 7 of our Constitutional Rights, Explicitly stated in the Bill of Rights have been perverted and violated. I wa reading in the paper about how we need to create a constitutional amendment to stop the powers that are being exerted. Guess what, they're already there, they've just been walked all over, and we "The People" have done nothing to stop it.

Our Government is full of Morons

It may be my birthday today, but I am pissed off about things... so prepare for a rant.

The PATRIOT Act was created with a 5 year lifespan (referred to as a sunset clause). That means it expires this year unless Congress votes in favor of extending the clause. It also means that it can be changed and adjusted before being put up for vote. If any change should happen it should be that we eliminate it altogether. But that's not likely to happen. Instead it has been proposed that it be made stronger. The FBI should be able to use subpeona power without receiving permission from a judge, and if anyone makes the existance of this subpeona public they can be sent to prison.

So let's see. I'm sitting at home and the FBI busts down my door. They don't need to have a warrant (which violates Amendment 4) they can take anything they want, for as long as they want (all of which violates Amendment 4). But that's not all. Now, if this happens to me, and I try to tell somebody about it, I can be thrown in prison (What happened to the 1st Amendment and my freedom of speech?). After they've gone through all my things and I'm now in prison, they can decide what their reason was for doing it. And, from a recent court ruling, suppose they find an encryption program on my computer (which exists, because I made one in 8th grade) they can use that in court as grounds that I was doing something illegal.

Saying these laws will only affect the terrorists is complete BS, cause they can destroy your life and then decide if you're a terrorist or not, but at that point does it really matter?

They say that the terrorists are trying to take away our freedom, to make us scared to go about our lives. So we've created all these new laws to protect our country. We've taken little slices of freedom away in the name of security.

"They that give up liberty for security deserve neither" - Benjamin Franklin

It seems that we will soon have neither if we don't make things change. 'Cause guess what. Anybody can still walk across the US-Mexico border, carrying any kind of weapons they want, and can still blow up whatever they want. Searching homes and putting policeman on every corner can't change that. If a person wants to blow himself up, and take 20 lives with him, we can't stop him. Israel has been trying to stop it for years, and they have a much smaller area to worry about, how could we possibly stop them. So we'll just keep giving up our liberty, thinking we'll get security...

"What luck for rulers, that men do not think." - Adolph Hitler

If we could just get people to see what is happening, maybe we could stop it.

And I could go on... but to what end... no one listens... no one cares... and before long, it will be to late to do either.

Xbox Painted - 506kb

So I finally got around to painting the top of the xbox. A big thanks to Sandy for doing the design and cutting of the Contact Paper we used for a stencil. It came out really nice I think.

This shot is with the Xbox off, cause I didn't get a good one of it on (with the light glowing) cause my hands are shaky and if I use the flash you can't see the glowing light.

With my B-Day next week I should have a soldering gun and will be able to continue on my Fan Mod for the jewel on top.. so hopefully there will be some pics of that up, and maybe even some really low quality footage...

Leave a comment, lemme know what you think of it so far.
